Flores
Flores is a long, mountainous island that straddles the “ring of fire” running through the backbone of Indonesia. It is lush and fertile in the highlands but hot and dry in the lowlands, especially on the western, northern and eastern sides of the island. The eastern parts of the island may only receive rain two or three months of the year.
